Next is not VS Code yet. We should finish and verify the foundation here first. projdoc — next sequence 1. Create the actual project package * projdoc/ * projdoc_system/ * docs/project/ * scripts/ * tests/ * sample application * all required .md handoff documents 2. Verify the foundation * Run the three foundation tests you already showed passing. * Add the remaining tests for: * PHP includes/functions/calls * JS imports/functions/API calls * HTML → JS/PHP relationships * shell → shell/PHP relationships * SQL → tables * configuration/secrets * read-only behavior 3. Build the first real analyzer The important goal is not merely a file list. We want projdoc to begin producing something like: index.html ↓ script app.js ↓ fetch api/project.php ↓ require system/database.php ↓ SQL project table And: PHP function ↓ calls PHP function ↓ shell_exec scripts/build.sh 4. Build the browser UI around those results The UI should eventually let you select: Project ├── Overview ├── Application Map ├── Browser Flow ├── Function Calls ├── PHP ├── JavaScript ├── HTML ├── Shell ├── SQL / Database ├── Configuration ├── Architecture Audit ├── Naming Audit └── Warnings 5. Test projdoc against itself This is important. projdoc becomes its own first real subject. 6. Only after that: move to VS Code At that point you’ll have a clean project directory and the AI handoff files will tell the next AI exactly where we are. One important correction The earlier package attempt included a setup.sh that would run: pip install --upgrade pip I don’t want that in our final beginner setup. Because your requirement is no OS-level modifications, we should make the environment completely project-local and avoid unnecessary Internet/package installation. Since the foundation is deliberately using Python’s standard library, we don’t need pip packages at all right now. So our next build should be: project-local .venv → standard-library Python → tests → analyzer → UI → self-analysis → VS Code. And .venv stays inside: projdoc/ └── .venv/ —not at the system level and not shared between projects. The immediate next action is therefore to successfully create the complete projdoc package and run its foundation tests.
