Use the directory tree
Select a folder or file in the left sidebar. The selected folder and file are highlighted there.
Select a file to view
Use the collapsed directory tree on the left. Expand a folder, then select a file.

How paths work
Base directory defines the root that the viewer may browse.
Current directory is used only when opening a filename without a path.
Folder navigation controls whether the sidebar tree and direct directory selection are available.
